Homework
Homework is due in class every Thursday. The chidren receive a treat, a sticker and a check on the
homework board.
You can make the assignments more challenging if you think your child is ready for it. For example,
if the homework says to draw three pictures that start with a certain letter have your child draw more than three items.
See if your child can sound out the words and write the words himself/herself. (Remember, the spelling will not
be right. We want the kids writing the letters they hear.) Eventually, your child can write sentences about each
item.
Remember, the homework should be enjoyable and less than 15 minutes each night.

1. No flip-flops allowed.
2. No spagetti-strap dresses/shirts.
3. No belly exposing shirts. Please make sure your child's shirt at least touches
the top of the pants.
**During the summer, it gets very hot. We will use the AC everyday in class. Your
child may bring a sweater/sweatshirt in their backpack. It can get very chilly in the room at times. I allow
the students to get their sweaters whenever they feel the need. (Please label your child's sweater, coats, etc.
You would be surprised how many children do not recognize their own clothing!!)
